Nutrition Consultant for Pediatric Care

Position Overview:
The Pediatric Dietitian plays a crucial role in the nutrition care process, ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of medical nutrition therapy tailored to their individual needs.
Key Information:
- Sign-On Bonus: $1250
- Work Schedule: 8-hour shifts as needed, including weekends, holidays, and on-call duties, providing coverage across all inpatient units.
- Employment Type: PRN (As Needed)
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct and document comprehensive nutrition assessments.
- Formulate and record nutrition diagnoses.
- Identify and implement suitable nutrition interventions, including tailored nutrition education that respects patient needs and cultural backgrounds.
- Monitor and assess individual nutrition outcomes in relation to established goals and interventions.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare providers to share nutrition expertise.
- Utilize resources efficiently in practice.
- Mentor and guide students in the field.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
- Work collaboratively with fellow dietitians as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in dietetics, nutrition, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an approved Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) program.
- Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration or eligible for registration.
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficient in computer applications.
- Certification as a Dietitian in the state of Utah or willingness to obtain within six months.
- Food Handler's Permit required for those involved in food handling duties.
Preferred Experience:
- At least one year of experience as a registered dietitian.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Proficient in operating computers and other necessary equipment.
- Capable of reading and interpreting documents and computer screens.
- Ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods while performing job duties.
