Position Title: Nutritional Services Coordinator

Reporting To: Program Director

Program Overview:

PCS Mental Health, LLC operates a Residential Treatment Facility for Adults (RTF-A) that caters to individuals from various counties. In this secure, homelike environment with sixteen beds, members will continue their recovery journey and cultivate the skills necessary to break free from the cycle of institutional living. The RTF-A is staffed around the clock to provide members with the support, education, and resources needed to thrive within the broader community. Each member will identify their own aspirational life goals and utilize these as motivation in crafting their personalized Recovery/Treatment Plan.

Key Responsibilities:

This role is pivotal in ensuring that members at the RTF-A receive three nutritionally balanced meals along with snacks daily. The position encompasses managing the kitchen, from menu development to sanitation and inventory oversight. The Nutritional Services Coordinator will also provide skills training for members in both group and individual settings.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Design and implement menus that provide three well-balanced, nutritious meals and snacks daily, consulting with LPNs regarding nutritional content.
  • Prepare menus at least one week in advance and maintain records for a minimum of seven years post-completion.
  • Offer substantial alternatives for members with dietary restrictions or those who miss meals.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained in a clean and functional state.
  • Oversee food and kitchen equipment inventory while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Regularly monitor and document refrigerator and freezer temperatures.
  • Engage with members to support their goals in menu planning and food preparation, including shopping, cooking, and cleaning.
  • Facilitate a weekly group focused on meal planning and preparation.
  • Organize a Community Meal weekly, involving members of the SIL program.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Cook in the food service industry.
  • Ability to read and follow standardized recipes.
  • Strong understanding of proper food handling practices.
  • Capability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • ServeSafe Certification preferred.
  • Ability to remain composed and focused during high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
  • High-energy individual with a strong work ethic and multitasking abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage oneself effectively.

  • Report observations of member behavior that may indicate a need for additional treatment or support to the treatment team.
  • Engage with external parties with professionalism and a positive customer service approach, representing the organization at all times.
