Animal Care Specialist

VCA Animal Hospitals is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Animal Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our hospital staff, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our patients and clients.
Responsibilities- Facility Maintenance: Perform daily cleaning of kennels, cages, and public areas, following proper disease control protocols to ensure a sterile environment.
- Inventory Management: Stock all kennel and cleaning supplies as needed, and maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Shipment Processing: Receive and process shipments, and restock medical supplies as needed.
- Laundry and Cleaning: Clean, fold, and stock laundry throughout the clinic, and maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Facility Maintenance: Perform minor facility maintenance tasks as needed, and report any issues to management.
- Operating Room Preparation: Clean and prepare operating rooms following proper disease control protocols to ensure a sterile environment.
- Central Supply Management: Maintain accurate inventory levels and restock central supply areas as needed.
- Compassion and Empathy: Demonstrate a genuine concern for the welfare of animals and a commitment to providing exceptional care.
- Attention to Detail: Maintain accurate records and follow proper protocols to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
- Communication Skills: Effectively communicate with colleagues and management to ensure seamless operations.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues to achieve common goals and maintain a positive work environment.
