Position Overview

The Senior Early Childhood Educator plays a pivotal role in nurturing the social-emotional growth of toddlers and preschoolers. This position involves collaborating with parents, fellow educators, and administrative staff to enhance the educational experience and achieve developmental goals. The Senior Educator will also lead efforts to assess and refine the classroom environment, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of children. While decisions regarding classroom management are made collaboratively, the Senior Educator will take the lead in scheduling and daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to effectively manage essential duties, including:

  • Problem-solving and making informed decisions for the benefit of the classroom.
  • Overseeing primary assignments and portfolios.
  • Providing training and support for new educators and assistants.
  • Managing classroom schedules, including breaks and preparations.
  • Ensuring timely completion of Parent-Teacher Conferences and follow-up communications.
  • Coordinating transition conferences for new students.
  • Developing curriculum, lesson plans, and classroom rotations.
  • Facilitating team meetings, including agenda creation and note distribution.
  • Conducting monthly meetings with fellow educators and leadership.
  • Managing onboarding tasks for new students.

Supervisory Duties

In the absence of the Director and Site Supervisor, the Senior Educator may assume supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • A college degree (AA, AS, or BA) in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience at Trust Automation Inc. or 5 years in a leadership role within a licensed early childhood education setting.
  • Ability to uphold and promote Trust Core Values.
  • Compliance with State of California Community Care Licensing Director Qualifications, which may include:
    • Site Supervisor Permit
    • BA in Child Development with one year of experience
    • AA in Child Development with two years of experience
    • Coursework with four years of experience

Physical Requirements

  • Effective communication skills for in-person, phone, or virtual interactions.
  • Manual dexterity for operating computers and handling materials.
  • Visual acuity for reading various documents.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Agility to carry, push, or pull objects as needed.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $23.74 to $27.00 per hour.
