As a Senior Financial Analyst, Denials, you will play a crucial role in overseeing hospital-wide revenue compliance and enhancement initiatives. This position involves collaborating with various departments to identify and implement process improvements within the revenue cycle. You will also be responsible for educating staff on billing and coding regulations to ensure compliance and reduce denial rates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage hospital-wide denial processes effectively.
  • Coordinate appeals with relevant personnel.
  • Provide monthly reports on denial activities, including appeal statuses and overturn rates.
  • Enhance revenue, billing, and coding compliance through staff education on current regulations.
  • Optimize the hospital's revenue cycle to improve net revenues and cash collections.
  • Present updates on regulatory or policy changes to the Revenue Cycle Committee and affected departments.
Departmental Contributions
  • Serve as an advisor to department heads on financial matters.
  • Act as a resource for billing and financial counseling inquiries.
  • Prepare analytical reports on utilization, costs, and reimbursements from various payers.
  • Assist with additional projects as required.
Qualifications

Education/Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with one to three years of relevant experience preferred.

Special Requirements
Familiarity with healthcare applications and Medicare/third-party payer processes is essential. Proficiency in Excel and Word is required, and experience with decision support systems is advantageous.

Physical Requirements
Extended periods of sitting, with occasional bending and reaching.

Work Environment
Standard office conditions with adequate lighting and ventilation, including customer interaction and telephone communication.

Cognitive Requirements
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and effective written and verbal communication abilities.
