Job Overview

Fenwick University seeks a seasoned Director of Legal Training to spearhead attorney training and development initiatives. This hybrid role combines leadership, program management, and training expertise to drive growth and excellence within the firm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and monitor firmwide and practice-group training initiatives to enhance attorney skills and knowledge.
  • Evaluate and refine training programs to ensure alignment with the firm's strategic objectives and evolving needs.
  • Collaborate with firm management, practice group leaders, and attorneys to identify training needs and develop effective programs.
  • Work closely with the training and development team to engage internal and external presenters, elevate program delivery standards, and introduce new learning opportunities.
  • Oversee the advancement of Fenwick University programs, ensuring alignment with the firm's growth and development goals.
  • Manage attorney orientation and onboarding processes, ensuring a smooth transition and integration into the firm.
  • Ensure compliance with CLE requirements firmwide, including obtaining accreditation in key states.
  • Cultivate relationships with external consultants, coaches, and speakers, and maintain active involvement in relevant professional organizations and networks.
  • Stay abreast of talent development trends and innovations, both within and outside the legal industry, and integrate best practices into training and development initiatives.
Requirements
  • Experience and expertise in attorney professional development, including program design, adult learning principles, and career progression.
  • Strong passion for training and professional development, with a proven track record of designing and implementing effective programs.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work with a client-centric approach.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members effectively.
  • Excellent communication, diplomacy, and listening skills, with the ability to inspire confidence at all organizational levels.
