Overview: The Lead Transportation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the transport of goods and materials between distribution facilities, clients, and suppliers. Daily schedules are subject to change based on business needs. This role may require working late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays. The Lead Supervisor is knowledgeable about all delivery routes in their area and can step in for any delivery driver as needed. Additionally, this position supervises and manages all delivery drivers in the designated area, ensuring that all delivery vehicles are properly maintained and that maintenance records are kept up to date.

Requirements:

  • Possess a clean driving record (MVR) with fewer than 3 total points, and no points older than one year. A zero-point record is preferred.
  • In good physical condition, capable of lifting over 60 pounds, standing for extended periods, climbing steps and ladders, and maneuvering products up and down stairs and ramps.
  • Pass a DOT physical and obtain a DOT Medical Examination Card if legally required.
  • Have prior supervisory experience and at least 3 years of experience as a delivery driver.
  • Ability to read maps, follow GPS directions, and navigate highways efficiently.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education is required.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software and processes within our operating systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and lead safety meetings for delivery drivers, maintaining attendance records and ensuring compliance.
  • Review coaching events from the LYTX Driver Safety Program and provide guidance to improve driving behaviors.
  • Assist in recognizing and awarding Safe Driver certificates.
  • Supervise a team of 4 to 9 delivery drivers in the branch or remote area.
  • Support training for new delivery drivers.
  • Manage documentation and information recovery for driver records.
  • Ensure daily inspections of delivery vehicles are conducted as assigned.
  • Accountable for delivery vehicles, fuel cards, receipts, and keys.
  • Ensure completion of daily delivery manifests by assigned drivers.
