Role Summary: In the capacity of the Regional Distribution Center Operations Manager, you will oversee the daily operations within the Regional Distribution Center (RDC). Your primary responsibility will be to achieve and surpass all defined performance metrics (KPIs) and cost objectives while ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize, plan, and monitor operations to attain optimal performance levels while adhering to all regulatory and safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with hazardous material shipping regulations in accordance with Federal and International laws.
  • Develop and implement reporting tools, while analyzing warehouse processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct regular audits of RDC operations to guarantee compliance among all personnel, fostering a safe working environment in line with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Act as the RDC Management representative on the local Safety Committee, contributing to employee relations initiatives to enhance morale.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in logistics or distribution.
  • At least 5 years of direct management or supervisory experience.
  • Experience in OEM distribution is preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in a unionized work environment.

Additional Competencies:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain distribution operations.
  • Proficiency in distribution center operational process engineering and execution.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices and techniques.
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience in labor planning and resource management.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with excellent interpersonal skills for team building and organizational management.
  • Motivational skills to identify coaching opportunities for team development and performance enhancement.
  • Experience in recruiting and interviewing candidates for operational leadership roles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems, particularly SAP and BMW WM.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with comfort in presenting to groups.
  • Ability to obtain Dangerous Goods Certifications.
  • Knowledge of US Market specific Employment Regulations and overall regulatory compliance.
  • Language proficiency: Fluent in English; knowledge of Spanish or German is a plus.
