Job Overview

Position Summary: The Warehouse Reach Truck Operator plays a crucial role in the logistics and distribution sector by utilizing a reach truck to efficiently move, stack, and retrieve products within a warehouse environment. This position is essential for ensuring the safe handling of goods, precise order fulfillment, and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operation of Forklift: Skillfully operate reach forklifts to transport materials and products to designated storage areas, optimizing space usage while strictly following safety regulations.
  • Inventory Control: Accurately select, package, and prepare products for dispatch. Participate in inventory audits and report any inconsistencies or damages.
  • Adherence to Safety Protocols: Comply with all safety procedures and guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to warehouse safety measures.
  • Maintenance of Equipment: Perform regular checks on the reach forklift to ensure operational efficiency. Notify the supervisor of any maintenance or repair requirements.
  • Warehouse Maintenance: Keep the work area tidy and organized, ensuring proper stacking and storage of items. Assist with general warehouse duties as required.
  • Record Keeping: Complete necessary documentation for inventory transactions, including entering data into computerized systems when needed.
  • Collaboration: Work in conjunction with other warehouse personnel and supervisors to facilitate seamless operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: Prior experience in operating a reach forklift is advantageous. Training may be available for candidates with a solid background in warehouse operations.
  • Certification: A valid forklift operator certification (reach truck) is mandatory.
  • Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
  • Physical Capabilities: Must be able to lift and maneuver heavy items, remain standing for extended periods, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to engage with team members and supervisors.
