Role Summary: We are in search of a skilled and proactive BIM Manager to become an integral part of our Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) team. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in exploring and establishing industry-leading practices that will shape our corporate VDC policies and strategies. Additionally, this role involves the development and oversight of VDC metrics across different departments and projects to assess the effectiveness of various VDC initiatives.
Key Duties:
Research and Development:
- Perform comprehensive research on leading practices in BIM and VDC.
- Engage with industry experts and participate in relevant conferences and workshops to remain informed about the latest advancements and technologies.
- Create and document best practices to enhance corporate VDC policies and strategies.
Policy and Strategy Development:
- Collaborate closely with the Director of VDC to incorporate industry best practices into corporate policies.
- Offer insights and recommendations to senior leadership regarding VDC strategies.
- Ensure alignment of VDC policies with overarching corporate objectives.
Metrics Development and Oversight:
- Establish comprehensive VDC metrics to assess the impact of various initiatives.
- Work with various departments to collect data and ensure precise reporting.
- Analyze metrics to pinpoint areas for enhancement and highlight success stories.
- Present findings to stakeholders and provide actionable recommendations for ongoing improvement.
Project Assistance:
- Offer BIM support and expertise to project teams.
- Ensure adherence to BIM standards and protocols across all projects.
- Facilitate BIM coordination meetings and address any BIM-related challenges.
- Act as the primary liaison between clients and the BIM team during weekly project meetings.
Training and Development:
- Design and implement training programs for staff on BIM and VDC best practices.
- Guide junior team members and promote a collaborative learning atmosphere.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in BIM management, VDC, or a similar capacity.
- Proficiency in BIM software including Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
- Strong grasp of VDC processes and workflows.
- Exceptional research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting.
- Demonstrated success in implementing BIM and VDC strategies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certifications such as CM-BIM, PMP, or equivalent.
- Experience with large-scale construction projects.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies in the construction sector (e.g., AI, AR/VR, IoT).
