Leidos Intelligence Division is seeking a Zero Trust Subject Matter Expert (SME) to contribute to a pivotal program within the organization, emphasizing the enhancement of security protocols.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), particularly the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Security Operations Center (SOC), is essential in protecting CBP networks from cyber threats. In the capacity of a Zero Trust SME, you will play a vital role in formulating and articulating innovative security strategies that ensure the organization remains at the forefront of industry standards.

  • Lead the enterprise-wide implementation of operational platforms essential for Zero Trust.
  • Enhance customer capabilities and establish best practices for the execution of Zero Trust principles.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure leaders to devise security roadmaps for network, compute, and storage systems.
  • Promote the adoption of advanced technologies and industry standards.
  • Integrate Zero Trust functionalities to bolster the agency's security posture.
  • Equip application operations with contemporary security frameworks.
  • Guide engineers in the application of state-of-the-art security technologies.
  • Utilize expertise in Network/Enterprise Security Architecture to develop Zero Trust capabilities.
  • Formulate and incorporate federal government requirements into agency policies.
  • Establish governance frameworks for operational policies.
  • Define metrics for cybersecurity and IT performance.

Basic Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline along with a minimum of 12-15 years of experience. Cybersecurity certifications and additional years of experience may substitute for formal education. Extensive background in IT Security and cyber risk management within a complex enterprise setting.

Familiarity with Zero Trust capabilities, infrastructures, and architectures is essential. Proven leadership experience is required. Knowledge of USG cyber risk management and NIST guidelines is preferred.

Certification: A current CISSP certification is mandatory.

Clearance: All employees within the Department of Homeland Security CBP SOC must successfully complete a 5-year Background Investigation.
