Job Summary

The Chief Pilot is a key member of the Kalitta Charters II leadership team, responsible for overseeing the flight operations and ensuring the highest level of safety and standardization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Flight Operations Oversight: Supervise flight crew members to ensure compliance with FAA regulations and company standards.
  • Pilot Management: General supervision of flight crew members, including scheduling and assignments.
  • Policy Development: Assist the Director of Operations in developing new flight operations policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Training and Development: Assist in the selection of Instructors and Check Airmen, and oversee the standardization of aircraft procedures.
  • Operational Control: Exercise operational control over company aircraft in the temporary absence of the Director of Operations.
  • Pilot Staffing and Experience: Assist in projecting pilot staffing and experience requirements, including interviewing pilot applicants and selection determinations.
  • Crew Record Management: Ensure the currency of all flight crew records.
  • Remedial Training: Notify the Director of Training when a pilot requires remedial training, including a written description of the required area for review.
  • Disciplinary Actions: Remove crew members from line status if they fail to meet company standards.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Must have all qualifications listed in FAA 14 CFR §119.65 and be extremely knowledgeable of FAA part 121 regulations. Must hold a type rating in either a B727 or B737 aircraft. Candidates with previous Chief Pilot, management, or extensive Check Airman experience will be given additional consideration.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Must be on-site and willing to relocate. Must have a Boeing 737 or Boeing 727 Type rating, and Check Airmen experience.
