Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Analyst to join our team at Nelnet. As a Software Analyst, you will design software solutions for product needs by collaborating with the product owner, business stakeholders, and software engineers. You will ensure the development team clearly understands business needs and leads the effort to design effective, simple, and creative solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Provide functional/technical requirements elicitation, analysis, solution design, and testing support
  • Translate Product Owner business objectives into actionable functional/technical requirements
  • Partner with the Product Owner to ensure the development team's comprehension of the business needs and the solutions being developed fully support the business objectives, functional requirements, and user interface requirements
  • Develop an overall understanding of the business
  • Resolve impediments related to software requirements
  • Participate in design reviews and team reviews to assess test cases, documentation, and other specifications around the project
  • Lead collaborations across teams
  • Determine and recommend steps for implementing/integrating new software and procedures
  • Identify issues/gaps in designs or implementations and recommend solutions
  • Identify and communicate risks to the Product Owner
  • Troubleshoot applications and recommend technical resolutions for research tickets or impediments
  • Provide post-implementation support
  • Assist with user training and related artifacts
  • Monitor DevOps processes, capture metrics, and provide insight and ideas on improving efficiency
Requirements
  • Development experience or ability to read code (Angular/C#)
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience with NoSQL, Azure, Postman
  • Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience
  • 2+ years of experience with NBS Products or in a similar position with another company
  • Ability to take initiative and be self-motivated
  • Working knowledge of software technology and broad business knowledge
  • Established skills in technical examination and analysis
  • Experience in designing, developing, implementing, and managing technology solutions
  • Ability to think conceptually and having an adaptable and flexible mindset
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work under pressure
  • Good time management skills to plan and organize own work
  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate within and across teams
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with Agile development
