About Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS):
CFS is at the forefront of developing the most efficient and cost-effective pathway to commercial fusion energy. By partnering with MIT, we harness decades of research alongside innovative high-temperature superconducting (HTS) magnet technology. Position Overview:
This role is crucial in overseeing the completion of SPARC Commissioning activities leading up to First Plasma.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct field testing procedures
- Assist in the formulation of Functional Test Procedures
- Proactively identify and address potential issues
- Ensure Commissioning documentation is completed accurately and promptly
- Supervise technicians, third-party entities, and vendors on-site
- Collaborate effectively with other CFS teams
- Plan Mechanical Commissioning scopes in alignment with the Integrated Master Schedule

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess most, if not all, of the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline (preferred, relevant experience may be considered)
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Commissioning
- Proficient in MS Office at a mid-level

Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Experience in Electrical and Instrumentation Commissioning
- OSHA 10 certification
- NFPA 70E certification
- NCCER Mechanical Technician certification
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
- Capability to perform tasks such as stooping, climbing, typing, standing, or sitting for extended periods
- Willingness to work in environments with industrial hazards, including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics
- Flexibility to travel or work nights/weekends/on-call as needed
