Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team in the Cath Lab department at Memorial Hermann Health System. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing special/invasive radiology procedures on patients, ensuring compliance with all radiation safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for exams, explain procedures, and administer contrast when necessary.
  • Select appropriate imaging techniques and ensure technical quality of images.
  • Help maintain patient flow and ensure delivery of quality services in the department.
  • Act as a resource and mentor to staff and less experienced technologists.
  • Review incomplete exam lists and unsigned report status routinely.
  • Function as a liaison between physicians, technologists, and department support staff.
  • Enter and monitor patient data and health history as pertinent to the exam being performed.
  • Perform quality assurance on radiology equipment and recommend modifications.
  • Maintain safety, environmental, and infection control procedures for the department.
  • Help schedule technologists to ensure appropriate staffing for expected patient volume.
  • Intervene with patients to help resolve complaints and issues.
  • Responsible for supply management and takes emergency calls within the department.
  • Ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors, adhering to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Promote individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency.
  • Demonstrate commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support.
  • Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT).
  • Registered Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R).
  • Four (4) years of prior experience as a Special Procedures Technologist.
