Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cath Lab Technologist to join our team at Memorial Hermann Health System. As a Cath Lab Technologist, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians during invasive radiological procedures, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform special/invasive radiology procedures on patients, ensuring compliance with all radiation safety procedures.
  • Prepare patients for exams, explain procedures, administer contrast when necessary, position patients for exams, select appropriate imaging techniques, and ensure technical quality of images.
  • Help maintain appropriate patient flow and ensure delivery of quality services in the department.
  • Act as a resource and mentor to staff and less experienced technologists, introducing and demonstrating new techniques.
  • Review incomplete exam lists and unsigned report status routinely.
  • Function as a liaison between physicians, technologists, and department support staff.
  • Enter and monitor patient data and health history as pertinent to the exam being performed.
  • Perform quality assurance on radiology equipment, recommend equipment modifications, and identify and help resolve equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintain safety, environmental, and infection control procedures for the department.
  • Help schedule technologists to ensure appropriate staffing for expected patient volume.
  • Intervene with patients to help resolve complaints and issues.
  • Responsible for supply management.
  • Takes emergency call within the department.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support, required.
  • Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required.
  • Registered Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R), required.
  • Four (4) years of prior experience as a Special Procedures Technologist.
  • Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients in conjunction with others in order to perform job functions.
