We are seeking a dedicated Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team at SSM Health. This role offers Full-time, Part-time, and PRN positions, complemented by an array of benefits and a supportive work environment.

Role Summary:
The Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for assessing and managing patients requiring respiratory therapy. This includes administering prescribed therapeutic services and monitoring patient progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients to determine the appropriate treatment and develop a tailored care plan based on their diagnosis.
- Deliver respiratory care services following physician orders, departmental protocols, and established guidelines.
- Implement and oversee patient care plans and equipment, while documenting and communicating patient status effectively.
- Assess respiratory practices, medication administration, and treatment outcomes.
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding health conditions and available community resources.
- Assist in the maintenance and calibration of respiratory equipment, ensuring departmental inventory is adequately stocked.
- Respond to medical emergencies and rapid response situations.
- Maintain a vigilant and safe working environment.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Educational Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- No prior experience is necessary.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent verbal communication and interaction with patients.
- Regular standing and walking.
- Occasional lifting of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent use of vision and hearing for patient assessment and equipment monitoring.
Licensure and Certifications Required:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- State licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Missouri.
