Overview:
The Neurodiagnostic Technologist II is responsible for conducting diagnostic electroencephalography (EEG) assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regularly monitor the functionality of EEG software, addressing issues as they arise, and inform relevant personnel when troubleshooting is required.
- Maintain detailed logs for statistical analysis and financial tracking, and perform necessary calculations for reporting.
- Support Quality Assurance initiatives, including environmental monitoring, adherence to infection control protocols, and the selection and management of equipment.
- Detect and rectify artifacts in recordings. Edit and submit findings to the supervising physician for evaluation and interpretation.
- Ensure the upkeep of EEG equipment and related supplies.
- Maintain a vigilant and safe working environment.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School diploma or GED, or a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience.
Experience:
- At least one year of practical experience in a related field.
Physical Demands:
- Continuous standing and walking.
- Frequent use of auditory and verbal communication skills.
- Regularly distinguish body sounds and respond to alarms or equipment malfunctions.
- Occasional lifting and transporting of items weighing between 0-50 lbs.
- Frequent visual tasks for near and far distances, including color differentiation.
- Occasional physical activities such as bending, kneeling, and repetitive movements.
Licensure and Certifications:
Must possess the following certifications:
- Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R. EEG T.) - ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation
