Position Summary:

Under the guidance of the Assistant Branch Manager, you will engage in various member service tasks to ensure the effective delivery of services in alignment with established Credit Union policies and protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

Engage in functions within your authority to deliver exceptional service and responsiveness to our members.

  1. Act as a representative of the credit union, providing courteous and professional service while addressing members' needs promptly and accurately.
  2. Foster a positive workplace atmosphere and enhance the image of St. Mary's Credit Union through respectful and effective communication and teamwork with colleagues and members.
  3. Achieve or surpass designated sales and service targets.
  4. Deliver an outstanding member experience by actively listening to and assessing members' needs, offering tailored solutions, and cross-selling products effectively.
  5. Assist members with the opening of savings and checking accounts, certificates of deposit, IRAs, bonds, debit cards, wire transfers, and other transactions. Process necessary documentation and manage information using various software applications. Address any issues related to existing accounts and perform maintenance on member account data.
  6. Stay informed about compliance standards and procedures.
  7. Conduct interviews and complete loan applications for consumer loans for Credit Union members, ensuring proper closing procedures for approved loans.
  8. Occasionally perform teller duties as required.
  9. Maintain knowledge of the diverse products and services offered by participating in training sessions.
  10. Contribute to community service by volunteering with local civic and charitable organizations.

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma or equivalent, along with specialized coursework in retail services, is preferred. One year of prior experience in a customer service role or as a teller is advantageous. Strong organizational and communication skills, along with attention to detail, are essential. Proficiency in using various office equipment, including computer terminals, is required.

Physical Requirements:

Frequent standing, walking, and sitting are required, along with occasional bending, kneeling, and lifting up to fifteen pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
