Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled individual to join our team as a Personal Care Support Specialist. In this role, you will provide personalized support to our clients, empowering them to make informed decisions about their lives and care. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with daily tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping.
- Support clients in developing and maintaining their independence, including assisting with transportation, scheduling medical appointments, and managing daily routines.
- Empower clients to make informed decisions about their care and well-being, including assisting with goal setting and objective planning.
- Provide education and support to clients on basic budgeting skills and financial management.
- Assist clients in building relationships and engaging with their community.
- Assist clients with benefits applications, documentation renewals, and other administrative tasks as needed.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for a degree in a human services-related field.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, seniors, or in home care is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to travel to client homes and other locations as needed.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
- Compassion, empathy, and a non-judgmental approach to working with clients and their families.
