Job Title: Controller

Reports to: CFO

Position Overview: Classic CDJR Lancaster is seeking a highly skilled Controller to oversee and ensure the precision of our financial statements. The position will be instrumental in implementing robust compliance measures and managing essential controls to support our financial objectives. This role is pivotal in handling cash, factory receivables, reserves, finance product remittances, and overseeing product cancellations.

  • Primary Responsibilities:
    • Office Operations Management: Analyze and organize office operations and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Personnel Management: Hire, train, and supervise office personnel to maintain a high-performing team.
    • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile all bank accounts daily to ensure financial accuracy and integrity.
    • Report Preparation: Compile information and prepare reports as requested by management to support decision-making.
    • Account Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations of selected accounts, including floorplan, bank, finance reserves, manufacturer statements, and accounts payable.
    • Finance Product Management: Ensure all finance product sales documents are reported and paid on time each month.
    • Tax Preparation: Assist with the preparation of North Carolina sales tax returns in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Commission Reporting: Prepare sales commission and chargeback detail reports for management review.
    • Financial Statement Preparation: Assist the Controller in completing monthly financial statements according to dealership guidelines and manufacturer requirements.
    • Month-End Close: Process accounting month-end to ensure accurate financial reporting.
    • Audit Participation: Participate in preparation for the annual audit to ensure compliance and accuracy.
    • Data Analysis: Review the company's accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances.
    • Meetings and Collaboration: Attend managers' meetings as requested and collaborate with other departments.
    • Additional Tasks: Perform other tasks as assigned by management to support business operations.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 Years of controller/Accounting Manager or 5 Years of Office Manager progressive experience
  • Preferably experienced with CDK DMS system
