SUMMARY:
Levindale Hospital is a 330-bed accredited facility located in Baltimore, dedicated to providing a comprehensive range of post-acute services aimed at helping patients regain their functionality and vitality following significant health challenges.
The Brain Health Unit (BHU) is a specialized area within Levindale, consisting of two units with a total capacity of 60 beds. This unit is specifically designed to create a secure environment for elderly patients facing neurocognitive disorders alongside other medical conditions.
As a Registered Nurse, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to engage, support, and treat patients effectively. The average length of stay in this unit is between 20 to 25 days, allowing for thorough assessment, medication management, and the development of sustainable care plans that enhance the quality of life.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is structured at 1:8-10 for nurses and 1:10 for geriatric nursing assistants, ensuring a manageable workload. Each unit is overseen by a charge nurse who handles a lighter patient assignment of 4 patients.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering safe, age-appropriate care to patients. Your role includes:
- Conducting initial and ongoing assessments to gather relevant data about patients and their families.
- Developing and documenting individualized care plans.
- Implementing, documenting, and providing care and education based on established care plans.
- Evaluating and documenting the outcomes of nursing interventions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Formal education equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years of college) with specialized knowledge.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a licensed Registered Nurse.
- Current American Heart Association BLS CPR Certification.
- Active Maryland Registered Nurse License.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and nursing processes as per the Maryland Nurse Practice Act.
- Strong critical thinking skills and knowledge of medical equipment.
