POSITION SUMMARY
The Acute Care Nurse Educator plays a vital role in supporting the Acute Care services and the Education Resource Center. This position is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs grounded in adult learning principles.
Collaboration with nursing leadership and clinical staff is essential to foster professional development and enhance nursing competencies. The educator will utilize their expertise to advance nursing practices across service lines and contribute to hospital-wide initiatives.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Advanced professional knowledge, typically equivalent to a Master's degree; proficiency in multiple disciplines is preferred.
- A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is mandatory, with a Master's degree required or enrollment in a Master's program within two years of hire.
- National Certification in Nursing Specialty, Nursing Professional Development, or ASTD is required.
- Previous experience in education or teaching is advantageous.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse is required.
- Must possess a valid Maryland Registered Nurse License and certifications in BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association.
