Job Summary

UPMC is seeking a skilled and compassionate Professional Staff Nurse to join our team. As a member of our care delivery team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and setting the standards for the level and quality of care.

Responsibilities
  • Quality Improvement: Actively participate in department or practice-specific quality improvement efforts, identifying opportunities for improvement and taking personal responsibility in improving patient satisfaction with the quality of care and service.
  • Collaboration: Establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and patients/families.
  • Patient Education: Develop and implement patient education plans, utilizing adult learning principles and teaching patients and families to effectively guide them through the episode of care.
  • Clinical Judgment: Formulate goals and a plan of care for patients that involves the patient as partner and considers the individual needs of the patient in a holistic manner.
  • Leadership: Demonstrate accountability for professional development, participating in practice-based shared governance, goal setting, and supporting the change and transition process to improve quality of care and the practice environment.
Requirements
  • Licensure: Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in practicing state.
  • Certifications: CPR Certification, UPMC approved national certification preferred.
  • Education: BSN preferred, minimum six months experience.
