Licensed Practical Nurse with Medication Administration

Sign-On Bonus: This position is eligible for a generous sign-on bonus of up to $7500 with a two-year commitment to UPMC.
Role Overview: As a Clinical Nurse, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of care for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Collaboration: Engage with interdisciplinary teams to promote effective workflows and compliance with healthcare policies.
- Ongoing Education: Participate in continuous professional development to remain current in nursing practices.
- Patient Engagement: Conduct patient interviews, offer counseling, and respond to healthcare inquiries.
- Medication Management: Administer prescribed medications and vaccines with precision.
- Nursing Care Planning: Assist in the formulation, execution, and assessment of nursing care plans.
- Assisting Physicians: Support healthcare providers during patient assessments and carry out specialized medical procedures.
- Age-Appropriate Care: Tailor information gathering and care approaches to accommodate the unique needs of patients across different age groups.
- Facility Operations: Manage sterilization processes, inventory supplies, and maintain accurate records.
- Patient Education: Identify educational needs and deliver relevant information as necessary.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to UPMC Health System policies and uphold patient confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
- Preferred: One year of clinical experience.
Licensure and Certifications:
- Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New York.
- CPR certification required based on AHA standards, including both theoretical and practical components.
- Must complete the licensure examination within four months of hire or within one year of graduation, whichever comes first.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification is required.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Temporary Practice Permit (TPP) is necessary.
