APluscare is seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive behavior support plans to meet the changing needs of individuals receiving services.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement new support services to meet the evolving needs of individuals receiving services.
  • Provide training to staff on implementing formal comprehensive behavior support plans.
  • Develop and monitor behavior intervention strategies with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) in accordance with APluscare policies and procedures.
  • Intervene during behavioral crises and understand and implement current DHS rules and regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist and cooperate in inspections and investigations of any sort, including investigations by APluscare and/or DHS.
  • Consult with direct care and supervisory staff to ensure daily activity schedules are adequate to meet the needs of individuals.
  • Act as a liaison with parents, staff, and DHS staff to ensure the continuum of care and support for members.
  • Participate in after-hour on-call rotation in cooperation with other APluscare staff.
Qualifications
  • BCBA required.
  • Master's degree in Psychology or related field required.
  • Extremely strong organizational, writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Creativity and flexibility are essential in assuming significant responsibility.
  • Experience working in racially, ethnically, and socioeconomically diverse communities working with developmental disabilities preferred.
