Overview:

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a proactive individual with a strong initiative to oversee and promote aircraft fueling initiatives.

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the planning and execution of design and construction activities related to Aviation projects, whether through design-bid-build (DBB) or engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) methods.

Key responsibilities will include daily oversight of multi-disciplinary design and/or design-build projects, which encompasses developing cost estimates and technical proposals, coordinating design efforts, managing timelines and budgets, and ensuring client satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Foster relationships and expand market presence in relevant fields.
  • Build and sustain client and partner relationships through trust and exceptional service.
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate activities across various disciplines from inception to completion.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Oversee project delivery, including scope definition, budgeting, timeline maintenance, and deadline adherence.
  • Promote a culture of safety in the workplace.
  • Drive project planning, budgeting, and establish critical objectives.
  • Contribute significantly to proposal efforts and manage projects through to completion.

Specific Duties Include:
  • Prepare and manage contracts, subcontracts, and change orders.
  • Review and implement project specifications, drawing releases, and design modifications.
  • Assemble project teams and coordinate activities across multiple disciplines to optimize resource utilization while meeting contractual obligations.
  • Monitor safety and health performance of team members and subcontractors.
  • Communicate project status, risks, schedules, and costs to all stakeholders.
  • Develop and present internal and external reports, including budgeting, cash flow forecasts, and project status updates.
  • For EPC projects, create and implement comprehensive Project Execution Plans, Quality Assurance Plans, Safety & Health Plans, and Procurement Plans.
  • Manage the subcontractor bidding process and prepare detailed scope documents for contracts.
  • Oversee subcontractor change management and claims mitigation.
  • Implement and audit project documentation and filing systems.
  • Ensure compliance with project insurance, taxes, licenses, and bonding requirements.
  • Facilitate the acquisition of necessary project permits.
  • Conduct project audits and assessments as required.
  • Lead project meetings and generate minutes.
  • Manage project turnover documentation and warranty administration.
  • Participate in the recruitment of project team members.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies throughout all project phases.
  • Develop and maintain community and trade relationships as necessary.

Qualifications:

A qualified candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, along with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.

Essential skills include a customer-focused approach, strong relationship-building capabilities, and effective conflict resolution skills.

The ability to deliver thoughtful and persuasive presentations to clients is crucial, as is the capacity to represent Burns & McDonnell professionally.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with analytical and problem-solving abilities, are required.

Professional registration or industry-related certifications are preferred, as is knowledge of EPC projects, including engineering, procurement, project controls, QA/QC, and field construction management.

Experience in a construction environment is beneficial, and familiarity with petroleum or fueling operations, as well as aviation experience, is a plus.

Proficiency in Windows-based platforms and project management software is necessary.

Completion of or ability to obtain OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 Construction Outreach Safety Training is required.

This position necessitates travel to various locations, and a valid driver's license is mandatory.

A basic understanding of Accounting Principles is also required.
