Position Overview

REPORTS TO: Head Housekeeper

DRESS CODE: Uniform with name tag.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally. Must remain on feet throughout the shift. Involves bending, stooping, climbing, standing, walking, grasping, carrying, pushing, lifting, and kneeling. Must be prepared to assist in emergency situations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Meticulously cleans guest accommodations as directed by the supervisor or inspector.
  • Daily changes of all used bed and bath linens in each room.
  • Inspects bedspreads, blankets, and mattress pads, replacing them as necessary.
  • Reports any damages or repair needs to the supervisor or inspector.
  • Safeguards guest belongings in occupied rooms and properly handles items left in unoccupied rooms.
  • Takes responsibility for all keys utilized during the shift and any found in guest rooms.
  • Keeps housekeeping carts organized, clean, and fully stocked.
  • Prepares rollaway beds and places them in the hallway, and removes cribs and cots from guest rooms as needed.
  • Completes the daily housekeeping report form as instructed and submits it to the supervisor or inspector at the end of the shift.
  • Ensures careful use of cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Gains knowledge of cleaning chemicals, including their safe usage and storage, applying this knowledge in daily tasks.
  • Assists in cleaning public areas as directed.
  • Regularly deposits soiled linens down the laundry chute, properly notifying laundry staff.
  • Scrubs and sanitizes bathroom fixtures and floors in each guest room.
  • Conducts vacuuming and dusting in each room.
  • Removes all waste from guest accommodations.
  • Returns to guest rooms to address any deficiencies as instructed by the room inspector.
  • Consistently meets housekeeping standards and maintains efficient cleaning times per room.
  • Ensures proper quantities of stationery and pens are available in guest rooms.
  • Places and replenishes all necessary amenities in the room.
  • Maintains a positive attitude in interactions with guests and colleagues.
  • Adheres to the uniform policy for housekeeping and laundry staff.
  • Follows all housekeeping and hotel safety protocols.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
  • Stocks and cleans breakfast items as required.
  • Handles breakfast clean-up.
  • Completes any breakfast-related tasks as directed by management.
