Position Overview

REPORTS TO: Head Housekeeper

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on occasion. Must be able to remain on feet throughout the shift. Involves various physical activities including bending, stooping, climbing, standing, walking, grasping, carrying, pushing, lifting, and kneeling. Preparedness to assist in emergency situations is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Meticulously cleans guest accommodations as designated by the supervisor or inspector.
  • Daily changes of all used bed linens and bath towels in each room.
  • Inspects and replaces bedspreads, blankets, and mattress pads as necessary.
  • Reports any damages or repair requirements to the supervisor or inspector.
  • Safeguards guest belongings in occupied rooms and properly handles items left in unoccupied rooms.
  • Takes responsibility for all keys utilized during the shift and any found in guest rooms.
  • Keeps housekeeping carts clean, organized, and well-stocked.
  • Prepares rollaway beds and positions them in the hallway; removes cribs and cots from guest rooms as needed.
  • Completes the daily housekeeping report form as instructed and submits it to the supervisor or inspector at the end of the shift.
  • Ensures the careful use of cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Gains knowledge of cleaning chemicals, including their safe handling and storage, applying this knowledge in daily tasks.
  • Assists in cleaning public areas as directed.
  • Regularly deposits soiled linens down the laundry chute and notifies laundry staff accordingly.
  • Scrubs and sanitizes bathroom fixtures and floors in guest rooms.
  • Conducts vacuuming and dusting in each room.
  • Removes all waste from guest accommodations.
  • Returns to guest rooms to rectify any deficiencies as indicated by the room inspector.
  • Consistently adheres to housekeeping cleaning standards and maintains an efficient average cleaning time per room.
  • Ensures proper quantities of stationery and writing instruments are available in guest rooms.
  • Places and replenishes all necessary amenities in the rooms as required.
  • Maintains a positive demeanor in interactions with guests and colleagues.
  • Adheres to the uniform policy for housekeeping and laundry staff.
  • Follows all housekeeping and hotel safety protocols.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
  • Stocks and cleans breakfast items as necessary.
  • Handles breakfast clean-up duties.
  • Performs any breakfast-related tasks as directed by management.
