Job Description

Electra Aero is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead the development of advanced aircraft concepts for sustainable air transportation. This is an exciting opportunity to lead all programmatic aspects of a cutting-edge development program with various leading researchers and industry partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the program team, researchers, and partners to plan and meet program objectives and exceed customer expectations within budget and schedule.
  • Interface with customers, suppliers, partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure program alignment. Prepare materials to support internal team alignment (i.e., program plan, all-hands, program reviews, contract deliverable/schedule/financial reports, etc.).
  • Responsible for planning and executing the program plan to meet budget, schedule, and performance objectives and building a team to execute the program.
  • Work hands-on with the team to solve problems. Provide leadership and mentorship to program team members to enable their success.
  • Lead the evaluation/selection, negotiation with, and management of subcontractors and partners. Monitor contract, subcontract, and funding; prepare forecasts of program financial performance.
  • Lead the definition, preparation, and presentation of program deliverables to customers in conjunction with the business development and contracts teams.
  • Work with Chief Engineer, customers, and stakeholders to shape the future of the program. Lead and execute the business development and proposal process.
  • Develop and lead the program-gated reviews, ensuring appropriate maturity across all functional areas for the given program stage.

Requirements:

  • B.A. or B.S. in Engineering, Program Management, Finance, or Business (or related discipline).
  • 9 or more years of experience in relevant discipline areas (or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Engineering degree.
  • US Person (Citizenship or Green Card).
  • Experience with government contracting program management.
  • Technical knowledge in aircraft design, electric propulsion, hybrid propulsion, and aerodynamics.

Location: Electra Aero's Headquarters in Manassas, VA. Partial or full-remote work arrangements will be considered for the right candidate.

Travel: Less than 25%.

Salary: $100,000 - $224,750.00 per year. Our salary ranges reflect the minimum and maximum range for the Company level overall across all locations & projects and does not necessarily reflect the budgeted amount for this position. Individual pay is based on additional factors, including project budgets, job-related skills, experience, relevant education and/or training, role, level, location, and project.

Working Conditions: Work is typically performed in a warehouse/aviation and office environment, which requires proper safety precautions. Work may require some physical effort in handling light materials, boxes, power tools, prototypes, and different materials or equipment. Due to the nature of our business and projects, some fieldwork may be required, working in both indoor and outdoor conditions. You may need to lift up to 50 lbs.
