Director of Asset Management

We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Asset Management to join our team at Selby Jennings. As a key member of our Asset Management Team, you will be responsible for overseeing the asset servicing functions of both private credit and public/traded strategies.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrivate Credit:
- Oversee financial operations for private credit strategies, ensuring seamless execution and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct operational due diligence (ODD) on deals and present assessments to the Investment Committee, providing expert insights and recommendations.
- Supervise loan servicers and other service providers for transaction modeling, cash flow calculations, contractual projections, covenant tracking, collateral performance monitoring, and eligibility rules.
- Assist with monthly and quarterly valuations, including gathering market quotations and coordinating with third-party valuation providers.
- Support restructuring efforts as needed, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful outcomes.
- Manage reporting on platforms like iLevel, providing timely and accurate data to stakeholders.
- Oversee capital activity, including draws and fundings, ensuring efficient and effective management of assets.
- Assist with fee calculations and processing, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Public Credit:
- Develop and manage internal valuation processes for traded asset-backed securities (ABS), ensuring accurate and timely valuations.
- Collaborate with investment teams, dealers, and third-party valuation agents to secure quotes and pricing, leveraging industry expertise and relationships.
- Manage pricing source hierarchy and conduct periodic due diligence on pricing providers, ensuring the highest level of accuracy and reliability.
- Present findings to the valuation committee, providing expert insights and recommendations.
Additional Duties:
- Participate in special projects aimed at process improvement and problem-solving, driving innovation and excellence within the team.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong understanding of public and private asset-backed securities (ABS). The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in asset-based or structured credit roles.
- CPA/CFA designation preferred, with a strong background in financial analysis and modeling.
- Experience with audit or valuation firms and strong valuation modeling skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and provide expert insights.
- Prior trading experience with asset-based securities is a plus, with a strong understanding of market dynamics and trends.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and concepts to stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet and financial modeling, with the ability to create complex models and analyze large datasets.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with a proactive and detail-oriented approach, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork.
- Experience mentoring and developing junior staff, with a strong commitment to knowledge sharing and professional development.
