Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Asset Backed Finance Executive to join our team at Brookfield Asset Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining direct relationships with specialty finance companies, sponsors, and bankers to source, screen, diligence, and execute on new investment opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Maintain Relationships: Develop and maintain direct relationships with specialty finance companies, sponsors, and bankers to source, screen, diligence, and execute on new investment opportunities.
- Structuring and Negotiation: Lead the structuring, negotiation, and execution of securitizations and other bespoke asset-backed financings, including the rating process.
- Investment Committee Support: Lead the construction of screening materials and investment memos for internal investment committees.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree with an excellent academic record.
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in cashflow modeling and documentation of CLO or ABS securitizations, warehouse, and asset-backed financings; experience in multiple asset classes a plus.
- Skills: Strong understanding of rating agency process and methodologies for securitizations, prior interactions with rating agencies preferred. Knowledge or familiarity with insurance investment management a plus. Strong capabilities in MS Excel and PowerPoint, VBA; Intex and Bloomberg experience a plus.
- Personal Qualities: Proactive self-starter with high attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and motivation. Excellent organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills.
Compensation:
Salary Range: $200,000 - $250,000. Our compensation structure is comprised of a base salary and a short-term incentive program (cash bonus). Cash compensation tends to vary based on geography to account for local market conditions and is set to be market competitive.
