Position Overview
The Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for guiding initiatives that align with organizational goals and outcomes, while fostering the development of team members' skills and expertise.

This position focuses on enhancing accounting workflows by leveraging strategic and project management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
- Utilize comprehensive knowledge of GAAP to oversee financial statement components.
- Identify intricate and unique challenges, proposing solutions or consulting with leadership for resolution.
- Ensure financial documentation adheres to relevant GAAP standards.
- Analyze complex financial data to pinpoint positive and negative trends, effectively communicating findings to management while considering stakeholder priorities.
- Assess risks associated with internal control systems and endorse necessary enhancements.

Proactive Risk Management
- Anticipate potential risks and suggest actionable alternatives in response to evolving business needs and challenges in financial reporting.

Process Improvement Leadership
- Spearhead projects aimed at refining processes and enhancing team productivity.

Strategic Alignment
- Collaborate with leadership to ensure the team's objectives align with broader organizational strategies, supporting the company's vision and goals.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work effectively across departments, understanding key stakeholders to include in decision-making processes.

Project Planning and Delegation
- Develop detailed project plans, prioritizing tasks and delegating responsibilities to meet deadlines and objectives.

Policy Recommendations
- Propose policy modifications and establish procedures to drive efficiency improvements.

Quality Assurance
- Conduct thorough reviews of personal work and oversee initial evaluations of team outputs, providing constructive feedback for enhancements.

Technical Research and Solutions
- Investigate industry best practices and understand internal system integrations, making informed recommendations.

Technology Utilization
- Apply advanced knowledge of relevant technologies and system designs to execute accounting responsibilities, identifying opportunities for improvements and enhancements.

Training and Development
- Facilitate training sessions related to new systems and ensure the establishment of corresponding policies and procedures.

Agile Work Management
- Maintain a flexible schedule, adjusting priorities as new tasks arise.

Milestone Tracking
- Develop and monitor milestones for individual assignments and projects, communicating progress to leadership and stakeholders as necessary.

Team Communication and Support
- Guide and mentor project team members in their responsibilities, ensuring clarity in project goals and expectations.

Budget and Performance Management
- Establish and uphold budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance standards.

Future Planning
- Strategically evaluate current processes for scalability, preparing solutions for identified gaps and advocating for these solutions to leadership.

Staff Supervision
- Oversee team members, organizing and prioritizing work, providing timely feedback, and facilitating their professional development.

Relationship Building
- Cultivate positive relationships within the organization, becoming a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for stakeholders.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Basic computer skills, including internet navigation, email usage, and word processing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Proven ability to fulfill the essential duties of the position.

Preferred Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in Accounting.
- Familiarity with SAP.
- Experience in leading or directing project teams.
- CPA designation.
- Background in auditing or working with publicly traded companies.
- Experience in the life sciences industry.

Compensation
- Salary range of $105,000 to $168,000 annually, with eligibility for bonuses and company stock.
