About the Role:


The Logistics Operations Leader will oversee and direct the production planning, scheduling, inventory management, and forecasting processes within our manufacturing system.

This role is crucial in ensuring that planning and scheduling align with Business Unit strategies to maximize profitability for Ahlstrom.


Key Responsibilities:


• Provide leadership in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), encompassing demand and production planning, production scheduling, and inventory management for a dedicated team.

• Own and continuously enhance the S&OP process in accordance with industry best practices.
• Coordinate the sales forecasting process across Business Units and validate through analytical reviews.
• Manage machine planning and scheduling for the manufacturing plant, ensuring optimal machine loading and cross-plant programs. Conduct necessary financial and trade-off analyses to maximize company profits.
• Optimize schedules to fully utilize pulp mill capacities and avoid production losses.
• Collaborate with Business Units to ensure inventory levels are optimized and target levels are met, implementing effective service level agreements.
• Ensure accurate finished goods and work-in-process inventories across all plant and warehouse locations.
• Align finance processes and procedures with operational needs.
• Support customer supply chain logistics to meet required service levels and optimize delivery methods.
• Ensure external warehouses align with Business Unit strategies and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Oversee the management of Product Data systems for item creation and manufacturing routes.
• Train, coach, and develop team members for succession planning and backup coverage.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Lean – Green Belt certification (or higher) is a plus.
• 5 to 7 years of experience in forecasting, manufacturing planning, or demand planning roles.
• At least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
• Familiarity with JDE and SAP ERP systems is advantageous.
