Position Overview:

Arcadis is actively seeking a Civil Structural Engineer to contribute significantly to pioneering high-speed rail projects that are set to transform transportation infrastructure. In this role, you will oversee various aspects of the construction process while ensuring compliance with safety standards.

This position requires a robust understanding of bridge (Highways & Railways) and general civil engineering principles, along with exceptional communication and coordination skills. You will collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate the review and approval of numerous engineering submissions from contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently assess engineering submissions for alignment with Design Criteria and relevant Code Requirements.
  • Coordinate engineering efforts with a diverse team, including Independent Checking Engineers, Independent Site Engineers, Construction Supervision teams, Contractors, and their Designers.
  • Support the Engineering Oversight Manager in evaluating design-based change order proposals.
  • Monitor Design-Builder progress in addressing and resolving outstanding comments across design packages and organize meetings as necessary.
  • Assist in reviewing monthly payment applications against established design progress.
  • Engage in various technical meetings, both virtually and in person, as required.
  • Identify and mitigate potential delays, risks, and challenges that could affect project timelines, contributing to the development of risk management strategies.
  • Promote effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, consultants, and regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain comprehensive and current project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Assist in generating regular progress reports for project management and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience in civil/structural infrastructure design projects.
  • Background in Bridge/Structural Engineering with proven design experience and a strong understanding of relevant design standards.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Civil Engineer registration in California.

The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $180,000.
