Project Engineer

Flatiron Construction Corp is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to support design services during the construction phase of the California High Speed Rail Project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meet with engineering and field crews to review production schedules and confirm materials, equipment, and resources are available for production to continue on schedule and within budget.
  • Review shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements, and project data to ensure quality and contract specification compliance.
  • Coordinate with technical designers to execute and update technical drawings.
  • Provide technical input for project work plans and scheduling.
  • Identify risk elements of production, materials, equipment, or process that could negatively impact the budget or schedule.
  • Evaluate daily production, schedule, and budget projections to accurately track project performance.
  • Document daily activities in Company-approved methods and technologies.
  • Update project schedules weekly for owner and management reporting.
  • Attend weekly owner meetings and present on project production status as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • 5+ years of construction engineering or design experience.
  • EIT certification preferred.
  • Experience in resource monitoring techniques, construction technology, process systems, and/or structures.
  • Specialized technical knowledge of design build or other alternative build techniques.
  • Able to set clear expectations for direct reports and delegate work to engineering teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of contract specifications and quality assurance practices.
  • Able to identify budget and project costs and recommend options to mitigate project delays.
