Project Engineer

As a Project Field Engineer at Gahagan & Bryant Associates Inc, you will contribute to the analysis of information, the specification of methods, process steps, and plant, machinery, and equipment to deliver the end product within specified cost and quality parameters. You will respond to RFIs on behalf of the Owner organization to facilitate the review and approval of engineering equals, design modifications, and maintaining documentation through review and audit of contractor staff. Additionally, you will generate and support the deployment of quality assurance plans for the field installations of existing designs. This position will organize and continuously audit the construction site to support accelerated pre-commissioning steps. You will carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the drafting of engineering standards and specifications and the evaluation of the effectiveness of those standards. You will also carry out inspections under the supervision of senior colleagues to evaluate the quality of engineered works and/or the integrity of existing installations or structures, and make recommendations to senior colleagues on the remedial works needed to ensure conformance with specifications and regulatory requirements. Furthermore, you will deliver required outcomes by coordinating activities of subcontractors and suppliers and acting as a primary point of contact for them while working within an established contract management plan. You will identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and use established change management programs to address them.
Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar discipline required.
• Demonstrated field experience to include drawing redline management, inspection/walk-downs/pre-commissioning teamwork.
• Presence in the field.
• Candidate must be capable of climbing ladders, lifting loads in excess of 30 lbs, and becoming harness qualified.
• Fluency in English required.
• Ability to read engineering specifications and drawings, including P&IDs, Piping Plans, Sections, and Isometrics, and equipment general arrangement drawings.
• Manages and applies safe systems of work without supervision and provides technical guidance when required.
• Negotiates without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on how to help the organization by obtaining consensus between two or more internal or external parties who may have different interests.
• Works without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on reviewing and creating relevant, lucid, and effective reports.
• Identifies, assesses, prioritizes, and manages risks without supervision and provides technical guidance when required.
• Works under guidance (but not constant supervision) to perform costing, budgeting, and finance tasks.
