Supply Chain Materials Coordinator

In this role, you will operate under general guidance and take the initiative to perform essential tasks that ensure the material needs of Fleet Solutions are effectively monitored and sustained in alignment with project and inventory objectives. Collaborating closely with various departments within Fleet Solutions, you will gain insights into fluctuating inventory demands, coordinate efforts with both internal and external suppliers and clients, and maintain a thorough and auditable record of material transactions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting reviews of Requests for Quotation (RFQ) for accuracy and completeness, along with preliminary technical assessments and pricing for OEM materials and components.
  • Tracking orders placed with supply chain partners and providing assistance in forecasting and production control tasks.

Location: Chesapeake, VA/Chula Vista, CA

Salary: $61,700 to $89,100

Please note that the salary range is a general guideline, reflecting a position based in California. Factors such as candidate qualifications, relevant experience, and specific position scope will be considered when extending an offer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze inventory levels of common stock.
  • Facilitate material demand to ensure a seamless flow of resources into the organization.
  • Assist in inventory cycle counting activities.
  • Create, manage, and oversee purchase requisitions for various commodities.
  • Initiate, evaluate, and negotiate supplier quotes and pricing.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with suppliers to stay updated on incoming goods.
  • Coordinate material transactions with internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Analyze projected material needs to prevent potential disruptions in operational workflows.
  • Support supplier relations and auditing activities as required.
  • Ensure material information is auditable using the company’s ERP system.
  • Propose enhancements to material transaction processes to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a US Citizen and capable of obtaining and maintaining a security clearance.
  • Associate's degree or higher in Business Administration, Logistics, Accounting, or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant work experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Familiarity with standard Supply Chain Management processes.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems, understanding their functionalities and interrelationships.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Material and/or Supply Chain roles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Able to work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools and programs.
  • Preferred:
  • Experience in the Ship Repair and/or Technical Service Industry.
  • Familiarity with Oracle ERP systems.
  • Supply Chain Management Certification (e.g., CSCP, CPIM, or equivalent).
