Job Summary

The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Behavioral Health Technician is a key member of a multi-disciplinary care team who facilitates skill development and provides direct care in the milieu for customer-owners in a program. This role involves facilitating and supporting customer-owner care that is highly interactive and participatory, where customer-owners have the opportunity to build, share, and express knowledge through open dialogue around issues or problems with a focus on customer-owner outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure a safe and supportive treatment environment.
  • Provide supervision of customer-owners to meet State of Alaska Licensing regulations.
  • Facilitate and support customer-owner care that is highly interactive and participatory.
Qualifications

To be eligible for this role, you must have:

  • Three (3) years of experience working in a behavioral health setting; OR a combination of education and experience with major coursework and experience in Counseling, Psychology, and/or Social Sciences.
  • At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Meet the following conditions to qualify as an approved SCF driver:
    • Valid Alaska driver's license that meets State of Alaska Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) license requirements.
    • No more than three (3) moving traffic violations or two (2) at-fault traffic accidents in the previous three (3) years.
    • No 'Driving Under the Influence' (DUI) or 'Driving While Intoxicated' (DWI) or 'Operating Under the Influence' (OUI) violations in the past five (5) years.
Additional Qualifications for Behavioral Health Technician II

To be eligible for the Behavioral Health Technician II role, you must have:

  • Two (2) additional years of professional and supervised social service or related work experience working in a residential behavioral health setting; OR equivalent combination of education and experience; OR demonstrated proficiency as a Behavioral Health Technician I at SCF.
Employee Health Requirements

Compliance with our Employee Health Procedure is a condition of SCF employment. You are required to agree that you will comply with all job-related employee health screening and immunizations prior to your first day of employment. Jobs designated as a Health Care Personnel (HCP) position require that you have documentation that you have completed the following immunizations prior to your first day of employment: MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella), Varicella (Chicken Pox), Hepatitis B, Influenza, T-dap (Tetanus - Diphtheria - Pertussis), and COVID-19 vaccination is required.

Shift differential pay is available for work performed on Sundays and evenings.
