Position Title: Information Systems Technology Adjunct Faculty (Part-Time)

Employment Type: Part-Time

Compensation: Payment per credit hour is contingent upon qualifications.

Job Overview:
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking applications for part-time faculty positions in Information Systems Technology (IST) within the School of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). These adjunct roles are filled on a course-by-course basis, as required. The faculty will be responsible for delivering college-level courses in-person, as well as through hybrid or online formats. Faculty members are expected to stay updated in their respective fields and engage actively in departmental activities.

Application Process:
Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis. The review of applications will take place when there is a need for adjunct faculty and will continue until all positions are filled.

Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience.
- Educational qualifications vary based on the specific courses:
     - For transfer courses, a Master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Information Systems Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related discipline is required.
     - For other IST courses, a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field is necessary.

Essential Skills:
All adjunct faculty must possess strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication abilities. They should be capable of creating syllabi and assessments, developing educational strategies, and working effectively with a diverse student population.

Preferred Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in the relevant teaching field.
- Experience in a higher education teaching environment.
- Proven ability to work with diverse groups of students.
- Familiarity with technology integration in educational settings and online teaching methodologies.
- Relevant occupational experience and current certifications in the subject area.
