**About the Role**
Virginia Western Community College is seeking a highly qualified Mathematics Adjunct Faculty member to join our team in the School of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). As an Adjunct Faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching college-level mathematics courses to students in a dynamic and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach mathematics courses to students in a face-to-face setting on the main Virginia Western campus.
- Maintain currency in teaching disciplines and trends in community college education.
- Develop and implement effective learning strategies, curriculum, and assessments.
- Provide excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds.
Requirements:
- Must possess a Master's degree in Mathematics or a Master's degree (in any field) with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Mathematics courses.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to write syllabi and exams.
- Ability to develop learning strategies, curriculum, and assessments.
- Ability to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree in Mathematics.
- Teaching experience at the college level.
