Job Summary

The Chief Hotel Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper operation, maintenance, and repair of all hotel equipment and facilities. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and administer the Preventative Maintenance program according to MCR standards.
  • Evaluate and spot check the work of all staff and contractors or outside laborers.
  • Handle guestroom maintenance requests in a timely manner.
  • Maintain files of and be familiar with all operational manuals and warranty agreements for equipment.
  • Respond to emergency situations using information contained in Material Safety Data sheets.
  • Keep Material Safety Data sheets current and easily available.
  • Coordinate all inspections of the fire safety systems, including extinguishers, smoke alarms, etc.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
Requirements
  • Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergency situations.
  • Reasoning abilities are always utilized.
  • Basic maintenance skills required.
  • Proficient in use of hand tools, power tools, test equipment.
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Driving Record (property specific).
  • Must be proficient in Windows operating systems, Company-approved spreadsheets, and word processing.
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Must have a desire to serve all guests.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older to perform this job.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical, Trade, or Vocational school degree.
  • Licensed in a trade preferred (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.).
  • 2 years of work-related experience.
  • Carry all equipment (e.g., keys, phones, pager, tools, radio) to maintain preparedness to always carry out work tasks.
  • Experience in a hotel, apartment, or a related field.
