Job Description

As a Maintenance Technician at 21c Museum Hotels, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs in specialized areas such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC. You will also be responsible for cleaning and maintaining all equipment and work areas, documenting all parts used and parts needed to be purchased, and reporting any unsafe conditions to the Chief Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Check with Front Desk to ensure all guest issues have been resolved.
  • Check HVAC loop temperatures to ensure they are at normal operating temperatures.
  • Check domestic hot water temperatures.
  • Walk the building daily to identify lights out and any obvious breakdowns, blemishes, or other problems.
  • Follow up on Housekeeping calls for maintenance issues.
  • Fix broken furniture as assigned.
  • Ensure all work orders are completed.
  • Check with Chief Engineer to ensure inventory is up to par.
  • Change air and water filters throughout the building.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance throughout the property, including guest rooms, public spaces, kitchen, restaurant, storage, and office areas.
  • Assist valet in resolving guest auto issues, such as jump starts and flat tires.
  • Assist Guests with internet connectivity issues.
  • Assist other departments within the property as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Basic knowledge of building mechanical systems and controls, energy management, and building maintenance skills.
  • Minimal comprehension and literacy required to read instructions and repair manuals.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
