Job Description
The College of Health Sciences at Oral Roberts University is seeking applications for adjunct faculty in Healthcare Administration. This position is ideal for a Healthcare Administration professional who wants to share their expertise with students. As an adjunct faculty member, you will teach in the residential undergraduate Healthcare Administration program course, providing introductory-level education to new healthcare administration students. We are looking for someone who can map their strengths with the courses taught in the program.
Responsibilities
- Teach at the undergraduate level in both face-to-face and virtual modalities, with the potential to include graduate courses.
- Participate in ongoing development, assessment, and improvement activities to maintain the quality and integrity of the program.
- Responsibility for teaching classes in the program, with a focus on teaching and learning to help students successfully meet all course outcomes and classroom objectives.
- Participate in professional development activities to develop and enhance teaching and facilitation skills.
- Participate in campus-wide initiatives to support recruitment, retention, and graduation goal attainment, including monitoring, adjusting, and assessing classroom program retention and graduation, and meeting with program advisors to discuss student performance and academic concerns.
- Fulfill all administrative duties related to instructional responsibilities.
Requirements
- Preferred Experience:
- Ability to work cooperatively with faculty and staff in diverse academic programs.
- Minimum of one year of teaching experience at the college/university level.
- Commitment to undergraduate education and student success.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals).
- A focus on student-centered pedagogy, integration of technology in instruction, and the ability to engage with industry in the classroom are highly desired.
- Essential Experience:
- Master's or Ph.D. in Healthcare Administration or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in healthcare practice, evaluation, and/or research.
- Familiarity with the healthcare landscape.
