Job Title: Communications Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Communications Systems Engineer to join our team at Clark Construction Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining various technologies needed for various fields of communications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of communication systems, including software, electronics, and equipment.
  • Provide technical support in the design and delivery of projects involving CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, public address, intercom, audio visual, telephone, and fiber network infrastructure.
  • Assist in the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for assigned projects.
  • Apply engineering techniques, procedures, and design criteria for projects ranging in size and complexity.
  • Contribute to the successful project delivery for a diverse range of projects for our clients.
  • Assist in the creation and development of communication system designs for assigned projects.
  • Perform field surveys and coordinate with client representatives to complete design engineering for communication systems.
  • Establish strong client relationships.
  • Generate technical study reports and prepare presentations to convey information to team members and clients.
  • Attend project review and progress meetings with clients.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals to ensure contractors' compliance with drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Complete assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.
  • Assist in the development of project specifications.
  • Responsible for development of discipline-specific engineering project elements/deliverables such as reports, designs, and plans.
  • Aids in the coordination and productivity of project team members.
  • Provides technical guidance to less experienced project team members.
  • Works closely with our Director of Engineering, with our other disciplines, and on multi-discipline projects.
  • Works closely with subcontractors, suppliers, manufacturers, and systems integrators to ensure that designs are constructible and available in the market.
  • Performs quality control reviews of discipline-specific engineering project elements/deliverables.
  • Assists with coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work within discipline.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Supports the development and updates of in-house communication systems technical manuals.
  • Supports the development, updates, and instruction of in-house communication systems training courses.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in one or more low voltage communication systems - CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, public address, intercom, audio visual, telephone, fiber/copper network infrastructure, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), and passenger/real-time information systems and associated hardware and software.
  • Knowledgeable in AutoCAD/Revit.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and/or 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience with transportation (mass transit/rail, aviation, etc.) communication systems preferred.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification with desire to seek PE certification or PE certification preferred.
  • BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification preferred.
