Salary Range: $80,000-$100,000 annually (bi-weekly payments)

Note: Salary is competitive and based on relevant supervisory and advocacy experience

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and high-achieving Accreditation Program Specialist who will provide independent expertise and analytical support to program applicants, commissioners, appraisers, the general public, and the staff at the ANCC office. This role embodies the program's mission by educating, mentoring, and assisting applicants throughout the accreditation process. Additionally, the specialist will support reaccreditation applicants, progress assessments, and quality audits.

The prominence of this role within the nursing community necessitates an individual who is an autonomous decision-maker, proficient in project management, and capable of coordinating all facets of the program under the guidance of program leadership, including the Assistant Director of Operations and the Director. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the nursing profession and actively seek professional connections to enhance and broaden the programmatic vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a subject matter expert to guide and assist applicants and reaccrediting programs through the application evaluation process.
  • Assess the eligibility of applicant organizations during the application phase, conduct informative webinars, and maintain communication with clients throughout the appraisal process.
  • In collaboration with the Director and Assistant Director of Operations, create and implement resources for applicants and reaccrediting programs.
  • Work with program leadership to ensure compliance and uphold quality standards within program operations.
  • Notify program leadership of any issues arising during the appraisal process.
  • Participate as a collaborative team member to ensure the efficient and accurate operation of the program.
  • Coordinate logistics and collaborate with the team on content development for program workshops.
  • Assist the Assistant Director of Operations in engaging with Appraisers, evaluating adherence to accreditation criteria, and reviewing appraisal documentation.
  • Contribute to the development and review of appraisal documents, motions, and decision letters alongside the Assistant Director of Operations.
  • Engage with Commission members during the appraisal process as necessary.
  • Utilize critical analysis to identify when consultation with program leadership is required.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge regarding the requirements for International Standards Organization (ISO) registration and demonstrate a commitment to adhering to ISO 9001:2015 Standards within the framework of ANCC's Quality Management System.
  • Ensure compliance and ongoing quality management as mandated by ISO registration.
  • Represent the ANCC and the program at meetings with commissioners, volunteer groups, professional associations, and other relevant organizations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Reports to: Assistant Director of Operations, Nursing Continuing Professional Development and Joint Accreditation

Qualifications:

  • Must be a Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with a graduate degree; a baccalaureate or graduate degree must be in nursing.

Experience:

  • At least four (4) years of progressive experience in managing projects with multiple complexities and concurrent tasks requiring meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to navigate political perspectives and communicate effectively with stakeholders, demonstrating independent decision-making capabilities.

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, databases, and various information technology and social media platforms.
  • Knowledgeable in nursing/healthcare, business, and quality improvement theories.
  • Articulate verbal communicator with the ability to present complex topics to esteemed leadership groups at national conferences and other venues using various formats.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel to and work from various metropolitan areas frequently for multiple overnight stays.
  • Able to travel by airplane to national, regional, and international destinations as required.

Work Schedule:

Hybrid employees are required to work a minimum of 20% in the office.
