Job Summary

The Archdiocese of San Antonio is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Spanish Language Instructional Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our educational staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the classroom teacher in planning, guiding, and educating students in a loving, Christ-centered environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Classroom Teacher: Assist the classroom teacher in evaluating the learning process of students, preparing instructional materials, and supporting learning activities.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other professionals to ensure a smooth and efficient educational experience.
  • Model Gospel Values: Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church and upholding the philosophy of Catholic education.
  • Manage Classroom Environment: Supervise students at lunch, recess, and in routine movement, maintaining a safe and respectful classroom environment.
  • Perform Administrative Tasks: Perform clerical tasks, prepare instructional materials, and maintain accurate records according to school policy.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have experience supervising children, preferably.
  • Language Proficiency: Speak with native level fluency in Spanish and possess proficient technology skills.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Have knowledge of the basic teachings of the Catholic Church, be able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form, and possess skills in handling multiple tasks simultaneously, job appropriate technology, critical thinking, and planning.
Working Conditions
  • Work Schedule: Work a minimum of a full school day, with some nights and weekends required.
  • Stress Management: Manage high to moderate levels of stress and maintain composure in a fast-paced educational environment.
