Job Summary

The Instructional Assistant - Spanish Immersion will support the classroom teacher in planning, guiding, and educating students in a loving, Christ-centered environment. This role requires speaking with native level fluency in Spanish and upholding the philosophy of Catholic education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the classroom teacher in evaluating the learning process of students
  • Assist with instructional materials preparation and student support
  • Monitor and assist individual students in small instructional groups
  • Supervise students during lunch, recess, and routine movement
  • Perform clerical tasks and prepare instructional materials as needed
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience supervising children preferred
Working Conditions
  • Required to work some nights and weekends
  • Required to manage high to moderate levels of stress
  • Required to work a minimum of a full school day
  • Required to work in standard classroom and school conditions
Mental/Physical Demands
  • Required to lift or carry supplies, textbooks, furniture, and equipment
  • Required to maintain composure and avoid inappropriate displays of anger
  • Required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach, grab, pull, hear, see, and speak on a daily basis
  • Required to perform repetitive physical tasks such as computer keyboarding, writing, and reading
Evaluation

Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Principal.
