Engineering Quality Control Specialist

The City of Peoria is seeking an experienced Engineering Inspector to serve as a liaison between contractors, developers, utility companies, and other City departments. This role performs journey-level work in inspecting development projects, construction of City infrastructure projects, and non-City owned utilities.
Main Responsibilities- Inspect workmanship and materials used in various projects to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and departmental regulations.
- Monitor construction activities and perform acceptance testing in the construction industry.
- Enforce compliance with temporary traffic control and storm water pollution construction site inspection regulations.
- Conduct field-testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt pavement materials.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with contractors, developers, and utility companies to facilitate project completion.
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus additional coursework (up to 1 year at a Community College or equivalent resulting in accumulation of similar knowledge and abilities).
- 2-4 years' experience in civil inspection, monitoring construction activities, and performing acceptance testing in the construction industry.
- Experience in a municipal or government setting.
- Valid Arizona Class 'D' Driver's License upon hire.
- APWA Certified Public Infrastructure Inspector (CPII) required in area of assignment within one year of hire.
