Job Summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to lead the technical analysis of manufacturing processes for heat treat processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, materials science, or a related field, and experience with heat treat process controls, FMEA's, and project management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and develop new materials and competitive products
  • Organize and execute the building, testing, and analysis of prototypes
  • Assist supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and performance
  • Develop and document functional requirements and detail design documents
  • Participate in proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science
  • 5+ years of progressive project and/or process improvement experience
  • Advanced understanding of heat-treat process controls, FMEA's, and project management
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills
